Well, Internet is a wonderful thing. Not only could I pull up hundreds of pictures of the ship on which my container (or half of a container) was loaded onto, but I can also track it in real time.

She was doing 18 knots outside the coast of Sudan/Eritrea and Saudi Arabia when I checked just now (09:00 CET).

Very cool and it allows me to see where all my stuff is!
